HBCSE is turning 50 next year! As part of our golden jubilee celebrations, we are organising a Symposium on Physics Education (SPE@AK80) from 22 to 24 November 2023. The symposium will also commemorate Prof. Arvind Kumar's contribution to science education, in particular physics education, on the occasion of his turning 80. The symposium will bring together physics teachers, scientists and physics education researchers, and will be focussed on the challenges and opportunities of the teaching and learning of physics from high school to advanced levels.

All sessions of the symposium will be held at the V G Kulkarni Auditorium, and shall be open to all members of HBCSE.

The last session of the symposium, from 2:00 PM onwards on 24 November, will be devoted to celebrating Prof. Arvind Kumar's life and career. Apart from the regular participants of the symposium, many ex-HBCSE members, collaborators and friends of Prof Kumar will be attending this session. We expect most members of HBCSE to be present as well. This particular session will also be accessible online via Zoom (link will be provided later). Please note that the other sessions of the symposium will be fully in-person, and not broadcast online.
