Prof. P. C. Deshmukh, Convener and Mentor of the Center for Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Sciences and Technologies (CAMOST - IIT Tirupati, IISER Tirupati)
Feynman talked about the only principle that required explanation in terms of two different phenomena. We will discuss it and discover that the explanation is not merely an important part of Maxwell’s laws of electrodynamics, but it also lays down the foundation of the theory of relativity.
Prof. P. C. Deshmukh is the Convener and Mentor of the Center for Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Sciences and Technologies (CAMOST), which is a joint initiative of the IIT Tirupati and the IISER Tirupati. Concurrently, he is ‘RV Chair Professor’ at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, RV University, Bengaluru, and also the Chief Technology Advisor to the Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, New Delhi. Prof. Deshmukh has authored Quantum Mechanics – Formulation, Methodologies, and Applications and also Foundations of Classical Mechanics, both published by the Cambridge University Press. About two hundred of his video-lectures, covering four full-fledged courses, are available on the internet. These have been published by the NPTEL and SWAYAMPRABHA.
