Abstract:

From mother to daughter, our cells pass on many layers of information. One layer is the genetic code (DNA). But the cells also pass on many other layers of information beyond the genetic code. This information mainly involves positioning of various DNA associated proteins molecules and various modifications attached to DNA sequences. How do they do that? The talk will discuss one of our recent work in which we propose a mechanism by which daughter cells can inherit one extra layer information from the parent.
