NIUS (PHYSICS) and NIUS (ASTRONOMY)

Please Note: For online application, all applicants should have a valid email ID. This email ID will be used for all future login as well as for all communications and updates during the two-year NIUS association with HBCSE.

Steps to submit your application online

1. First you need to create an applicant profile
2. Activate your account by clicking an activation link that will be sent to you on your registered email id.
3. Login into your account using your registered email ID and password.
4. Fill in all details and submit the application form.
5. Link for Confidential Assessment Form will be sent to the referees after your submission.
6. The application form must be submitted by you latest by March 8, 2026 and the confidential assessment must be submitted by your referees latest by March 10, 2026 .

Instructions

Before proceeding to applying online, please keep the following documents ready and read the instructions carefully:
1. The application form for NIUS (Physics) and NIUS (Astronomy) is common – if you are interested in both programmes, please choose the appropriate option at the top of the form, and indicate your preference for the subject (you will be selected for at most ONE subject only). Please do NOT submit separate applications for the two subjects.
2. A softcopy of your recent photograph. (.jpg/.png file of size not exceeding 2 MB)
3. Scanned photo/image of your recent Bonafide certificate of affiliation as a first year student from your current college/institution. (.jpg/.png file of size not exceeding 2 MB)
4. ALL your marksheets for X, XII (and UG Semister 1, if available) as a single PDF file
5. Full contact address for yourself and your institution, including pincode.
6. Name, Designation, Department, Institute, Email ID of TWO referees who would be filling Confidential Assessment Form for you. They should be teachers with whom you have interacted academically in the last TWO years. Atleast one of the referees must have taught at UG level. Please check the email ids of referees carefully. Wrong submission of email ids will cause the referee requests to fail and your application to be rejected as incomplete.
