Prof. Jijo P. Ulahannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Government College, Kasaragod, Kerala.

Abstract:

The state of Kerala has been serving as a role model for general education in the country for quite some time. The success model in school education has never been fully replicated in higher education. The state is attempting curriculum revision. Science curriculum at the school and college levels may be improved through necessary interventions at various learner levels. Science communication, in the age of social media and fake news, has become very important in engaging with the common public. This presentation aims to throw light into various such interventions. Further, development and use of various pedagogical and technological tools in these processes will be embellished.

About the speaker:

Jijo P. Ulahannan has a M.Sc.(Physics) from Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, India and a Ph.D. from Cochin University of Science & Technology, Kochi, India. He is an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at Government College Kasaragod under the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Kerala. He is involved in Science Communication, Project Based Education, Participatory Learning, etc.
